Tribal Consultation Notice: Federal Permitting Council Tribal Environmental Review Improvement Fund (ERIF) Application

Background

This consultation is a follow up to the consultations the Permitting Council OED hosted in February 2023 on the $5 million the agency is making available to Tribes to enhance Tribal engagement in the permitting review and authorization process for FAST-41 covered projects. The purpose of the February 2023 consultation was to scope the needs Tribes have related to enhancing Tribal engagement in the permitting review and authorization process for FAST-41 covered projects.

The Permitting Council OED believes government-to-government consultation is a critical step in creating a funding opportunity that meets the needs of Tribes.The Permitting Council used the feedback during the February 2023 consultations to draft the Tribal ERIF program, and we are excited to announce the availability of the draft Tribal ERIF application for Tribal review and consideration before the application is finalized.
