Advisory Committees

SGAC requested that DOI support legislation the provides advance appropriations authority for the Department.

SGAC effort to reaffirm the ability of Tribal Nations and Tribal Organizations to establish and utilize direct agreements with the Government Services Administration.

SGAC urged Interior to develop a Secretarial level Tribal Advisory Committee that will provide a forum where Tribal leadership can assist in the development of policies that better align with the fulfillment of the Department’s Treaty and Trust obligations and more effectively guide the Administration in its dealings with Tribal Nations.

SGAC request that Indian Affairs implement organizational reform that results in increased communication and collaboration between all bureaus and offices under Indian Affairs.

SGAC requests that Tribal Nations be included in the discussions about a plan to address school violence and to develop safety measures.
