In 2015, SGAC requested a status report regarding the Bureau of Indian Affairs’ progress in developing a report to Congress on the funding needs of Tribal Courts in P.L. 83-280 States.
In 2015, SGAC recommended that Indian Affairs take a number of steps to improve coordination and communication with Self-Governance Tribes, including: BIA must notify Self-Governance Tribes of grant opportunities and be on equal footing for the evaluation of grant recipients. In 2015, TSGAC submitted comments on the feasibility and advisability of the Indian Health Service and Tribal Health Programs entering into agreements with the VA for reimbursement of the costs of direct care services provided to eligible Veterans who are not American Indian or Alaska Native.
