Interior’s detailed plan provides distinct action items to improve when and how every Interior official and staff member engages in consultation. The plan’s action items aim to leverage existing technology to establish Interior-wide training and communication tools to support the ability of Tribes and all individual Interior officials and staff to consistently engage in meaningful consultation. The action items also include directions to update Interior’s consultation policy and to establish a Secretarial Tribal Advisory Committee to improve Interior’s accountability for conducting meaningful consultation.
