Senator Thune introduced S. 304, which amends the IHCIA to require IHS to cover the cost of a co-payment of a Native Veteran receiving medical care or services from the Department of Veterans Affairs. In 2017, SGCETC sent a letter to Senator Thune explaining how this bill violates the trust responsibility to provide health care services to American Indian and Alaska Native peoples.
